CP1 Virtual Museum now online!
Jim Luke and I were talking and he thought we should try to preserve some of the member’s history, since we have such a colorful membership. (Ok, keep it G rated, the guys in Saudi can not get the good histories!)
So, I got to thinking and knew that I would not be building a real museum…too much work…. But what about a Virtual Museum?
We do not have a brink building, yet... nor do we have our old post HQ back in a Free Shanghai, China. We have a history page of the post history. So, it seems we need a VIRTUAL Museum which will be for our members' history! We have started this and it is linked from our the center of our Homepage www.chinapost1.org. I have moved much of our old history from the front page, to our virtual museum. I have taken all the data since 2002 and organized it into our virtual museum. We even have a search capability for the whole website that Webmaster’s son Eric, acquired for us a few years ago. This will help on the museum as it grows.
I am trying to set this up with minimal amounts of labor. I spent a lot of hours this weekend on it, but in the future, it should be easy to maintain. We have some minor rules to make this work, but I really can not do this with out your data. Send a Bio, or trip report, or write up about an event. Those budding book writers could also send something in Word format. (Sorry, we can not put all of WEB Griffin/Butterworth writings on the web due to size!)
We want your data, but not info that is on other webpages. If you have info on a webpage, send to webmaster who can put a link to it.
RULES:
1. Do not send general info that does not have our members in it. (It is probably on the web and copyrighted!)
2. Put together your info on a Microsoft Word Document. Put the title, data and pictures in the Word Document in the way you want it on the web. Then send me the MS Word Doc. (Webmaster has a real day job, if you can convince Mrs. Webmaster that I should quit work, sit on a beach in Philippines, and do webpages all day...then I will be setting up all individual pages.) Ensure you put your name or the author’s name on each MS Word Document.
3. To put photos into a MS Word Doc, just cut and paste or drag and drop. This is very easy!

Your new website is fantastic.
I just wanted to see if anyone is communicating with the U.S. from Kwajaline Police Department. The time I spent on the Island will be missed for the rest of my life. All the people that worked for me were great. And if any of you remember me. Hi! to all of you. For those of you that are working now. Enjoy what you have. You will miss it later on in life. Trust me. If I was physicaly fit to pass the test, I would be back next week. Anyway, Hi! to all Police officers on Kwaj. And good luck to all.

When I first heard about virtual museum, I told to myself this is awesome!This is a great opportunity to all who are internet savvy. And prefer to wonder the museum online.
